NVE Bank Participates in National Rebuilding Day

As a Mutual Bank, investing our time and resources into the communities where we live and work is part of our mission. As such, NVE Bank participates in a range of activities in Bergen County all year long to help ensure that our communities remain strong and healthy. One of the most recent examples of this is National Rebuilding Day, the annual signature event of Rebuilding Together, which takes place during National Rebuilding Month in April. NVE Bank partnered with Rebuilding Together Bergen County – one of 200 Rebuilding Together affiliates across the nation – to help rebuild the Center for Food Action in Englewood, NJ.

More than 15 NVE Bank employees volunteered to paint and make repairs to the Center, which provides emergency food, homelessness prevention and utility assistance to tens of thousands of individuals and families living in Northern New Jersey. With deep roots in the towns we serve, this is just one of the ways in which we are committed to making a difference.

In addition to volunteer service, NVE Bank also presented Rebuilding Together Bergen County with a $6,000 donation to assist with its mission of rehabilitating and improving low-income homeowners’ homes at no cost. People who receive these invaluable services include the elderly, disabled, military veterans and families in need, as well as community centers serving those populations. The combination of literally lending a hand and providing financial support are critical for non-profit organizations such as Rebuilding Together Bergen County to continue to do the good work of helping our friends and neighbors.

In the same way it is important to NVE Bank to support community programs in a hands-on way, it is also important to organizations like Rebuilding Together to witness that involvement. Ann Fargis, President of Rebuilding Together Bergen County’s Board of Directors echoed that sentiment: “We are always grateful to see corporate sponsors like NVE come out to support the work at the home or community building their funding supports.”
